Foodie Friday ~ Mickey's Head on a Stick, Now with Sprinkles!

Image
Welcome Foodie Friday Blog Hoppers! Mickey Rice Krispie Treat Location: Concierge Reception, Diversions, Disney Wonder Cost: Included with Concierge Cruise Fare Not to be undone by the tragic Mickey Bar shortage of January 2014, which prevented our favorite cruise snack ( here ), we soldiered on in our vacation. What would our little gluten free mouseketeer enjoy for his favorite dessert? On arriving to the Concierge Reception, we were greeted by a tray of these: Mickey Rice Krispie Treats, Plain and Milk Chocolate Dipped with Sprinkles. Ben enjoyed one of the Milk Chocolate Dipped Mickeys, which he said was pretty much a normal Rice Krispie treat, with the added awesome of being Mickey's head on a stick. Chris enjoyed a plain Mickey head Rice Krispie (to avoid the possibility of gluten in the sprinkles.) Kylee and I stuck to fruit and fruity drinks. So how did these rate relative to Mickey Bars? Chris rates these Mickey Bars slightly above anything. Ice crea...

You've Got Mail (Attn: Disney Characters, Revisit)

Image
Last August, I ran across a pin on pinterest touting the idea that: " If you write a letter to your child's favorite Disney character they will write back and send an autographed picture. This is the address. // cc @Barbara Acosta Parr Bar." Our Letters The address shown in the original pin is: Attn: (Disney Character) Walt Disney World Communications PO Box 10040 Lake Buena Vista, FL 32380-0040 As I  blogged at the time , we weren't certain we would get any response (especially from Luke Skywalker), but the kids really enjoyed writing letters to their favorite Disney friends. Interestingly enough, Rapunzel did show up on our cruise. Well guess how surprised I was when in the mail yesterday, what should appear but two large postcards for our kids? Kylee is still busy celebrating her birth day month. Are these in response to the letters they wrote in August? Are they because we recently returned from a Disney cruise? Honest...

Tiggerific Tuesday Trivia ~ Sisters Not Twins

Image
Welcome Tiggerific Tuesday Trivia blog hoppers. Thanks again to Jodi from  +Magical Mouse Schoolhouse , Heidi from  +Heidi's Head , Jenn from Disney Babies Blog  and  +Mike Ellis  for co-hosting! Did You Know... Even before the Disney Magic was reimagined, the Magic and Wonder as sister ships each enjoyed very different personalities. Aside from the obvious differences in décor (Art Nouveau vs. Art Deco) and further upgrade differences (Outlook Café) and theming of the adults areas, even some parts which seem as though they should match don't if you start looking very carefully. Case in point? They don't even have matching hidden Mickeys! Just outside Treasure Ketch taken seven months apart. On the Wonder, no hidden Mickey. On the Magic, there is, if you look very closely! Do you have a favorite Hidden Mickey?

A Case of the Mickey Mondays

Image
I really, really am looking forward to my vacation! My dear husband is out of town for work this week and within an hour of him leaving for the airport, our A/C went out. Just as an FYI for you northerners, it's still in the 90's with late afternoon thunder showers down in my part of Texas, so this is more than just an inconvenience. It got me thinking about the way that I just relax once I'm on board. My Happy Place How once I arrive everything is easy and the hardest decision I make all week involve whether the kids eat breakfast before or after swimming. Or both. How I don't even need to make my own bed and towels mysteriously appear clean and folded into cute critters nightly. How room service caters to my preschoolers whimsical eating schedule. How much Monday at Disney is a "WHOOP! IT'S MONDAY!" And wondering if I can recapture a bit of that through Mickey-ing up my Mondays. Mickey Waffle Monday! I applied for the Disney Parks Moms Panel...
