Foodie Friday ~ Mickey's Head on a Stick, Now with Sprinkles!

Welcome Foodie Friday Blog Hoppers!

DisneyDayByDay

Mickey Rice Krispie Treat
Location: Concierge Reception, Diversions, Disney Wonder
Cost: Included with Concierge Cruise Fare

Not to be undone by the tragic Mickey Bar shortage of January 2014, which prevented our favorite cruise snack (here), we soldiered on in our vacation.
What would our little gluten free mouseketeer enjoy for his favorite dessert?
On arriving to the Concierge Reception, we were greeted by a tray of these:

The Royal Treatment
Mickey Rice Krispie Treats, Plain and Milk Chocolate Dipped with Sprinkles.
Ben enjoyed one of the Milk Chocolate Dipped Mickeys, which he said was pretty much a normal Rice Krispie treat, with the added awesome of being Mickey's head on a stick. Chris enjoyed a plain Mickey head Rice Krispie (to avoid the possibility of gluten in the sprinkles.) Kylee and I stuck to fruit and fruity drinks.
So how did these rate relative to Mickey Bars?

Mickey Rice Krispies
Chris rates these Mickey Bars slightly above anything.
Ice cream, Rice Krispie, either way is super yummy.
I'm pretty sure Chris approved.
Ben rates them above the Premium Mickey Bars (but not as good as Palo's chocolate soufflé.)
I'm pretty certain I'm going to be picking some up at Downtown Disney for souvenirs next trip.

So which do you like better: Mickey Bar or Mickey Krispie?

Comments

  1. I'd have to go with the Mickey Bar, though the Krispies are good, they just can't hold up for me. Though they do hold up better in hot weather with the Mickey bar running down my arm. But, we all know no matter what everything tastes better when it's Mickey shaped. Thanks for sharing and joining the hop this week!

  2. When at Disney World, it's got to be the Mickey Bar, but thanks to a good friend's thoughfulness, I have a nifty Mickey-shaped cookie cutter and now make the Krispies Treats at home. Best of both!!!

  3. I love the Mickey rice krispy treats...almost as much as Mickey bars! But if the chocolate soufflé is better than both, I think I'm definitely going to need to go on a cruise to try it!

  4. We love the Mickey Rice Krispie Treats in the parks and to take home as a special treat. My son is Lactose Intolerant and it's one treat he can always enjoy without worry. He thinks it's better than a Mickey Bar too.

    1. My DD is dairy free too. These ones were labelled with milk as an ingredient (even on the no chocolate Mickeys.)
My GF DS loves them though!
