Foodie Friday ~ Do you have anything non-alcoholic?
Welcome Foodie Friday Blog Hoppers!
Champagne Toast
Location: Palo Brunch, Disney Wonder
Cost: First glass included with brunch, brunch is currently priced at $25 per guest
Disney ships offer a "Champagne Brunch" by reservation on sea days. Hosted in Palo, an Italian adults only restaurant, this quiet getaway is definitely worth trying (it's a must do for us.) Last trip we took my sweet mother in law, Diana with us and she had her doubts about the situation, but gamely went along to see our "favorite restaurant."
Just to get this out in the open, Ben and I don't drink.
Ever.
(Unless I get the wrong cup at communion. So back on my first trip to the Palo Champagne Brunch, I expected a bit of awkwardness around the whole "complimentary first glass or mimosa" situation.
I could not have been more wrong. This was completely a non-issue. On telling the waiter that we would like something non-alcoholic, he offered us sparkling cider instead. Sure, why not?)
Ordering a round of sparkling cider for our "champagne toast" is always a treat. Not the common cloyingly sweet cider that appears for the kiddy table set around New Year's Eve, this is subtle, crisp, cool, refreshing and nicely fizzy.
They make a perfect complement as we introduced her to our tradition of "Palo Wishes."
Palo Wishes Rules:
1.) You must make a wish with something to do about Disney vacations.
2.) You must take time to talk about any past Palo wishes that came true.
3.) You must share out loud what your Palo wish is with the table!
Do you have any fun traditions that you think are kind of unique?
I'd love to hear how you make your own magic!

We aren't drinkers here either, but I have to admit that I do like champagne when it's served at weddings, so I'd probably enjoy this experience (I'm guessing Disney probably serves the good stuff!)
ReplyDeleteDefinitely!
DeleteSparkling cider? YUM! I don't drink either, but I absolutely LOVE sparkling grape juice. I'm sure I would probably love the cider just as much!
