Foodie Friday ~ Dessert with a Side of Redundancy

Welcome Foodie Friday Blog Hoppers!
DisneyDayByDay

Allergy Free Chocolate Cake
Location: All Rotational Restaurants as well as Palo, Disney Wonder
Cost: Included in Cruise Fare (Palo has a surcharge)

As I said in my "The Royal Treatment" trip report, our recent cruise allowed for us to see how the Disney Wonder handled allergy free dining. On previous Disney Magic cruise, we received a wide variety of desserts. On the Wonder we received this lovely, squishy sweet delectation for the first time. I noticed it was soft and sweet chocolate-y gooeyness.

The Royal Treatment

I possess a very odd sense of humor though, since I found it hilarious when we were served it in:
  • Parrot Cay after boarding lunch
  • Triton's first evening at dinner
  • Animator's Palate-Show Night second evening at dinner
  • Animator's Palate-Pirate Night third evening at dinner
  • Studio Sea (Family Studio) fourth afternoon at the princess tea and finally
  • Palo fourth evening, after dinner.
I don't know. I think the first one was pretty good, but NO ONE wants to eat the same dessert that many days in a row. At that point it just isn't yummy anymore. I noticed by the third or thereabouts that this cake squishes and squeaks oddly like marshmallow, and the sauce is very reminiscent of Hershey Syrup. The whole thing is in-edible-y over sweetened (even Kylee wouldn't take a bite by the sixth time.)  Points for having a gluten free, dairy free egg free dessert, but a little variety would be appreciated!

Do you have any dessert you would enjoy eating six times in four days?

  1. Hmm maybe ice cream, I'm an addict, but 6 times in 4 days might even be much for that. I love the presentation though. Thanks for joining the hop this week!
