Foodie Friday ~ Muffins with Character
Welcome Foodie Friday Blog Hoppers!
Thank you Disney Day By Day for hosting.
Mickey's Island Jam Character Breakfast
Location: Parrot Cay, Disney Magic, May 2013
Cost: Included on 7+ night cruises on the classic ships
On arriving at our appointed character breakfast, we joined our usual servers at our usual table. After taking our drink orders we perused the menu. Chris received his usual short stack of gluten-free pancakes and bacon while Kylee enjoyed dairy free pancakes and a fruit cup. Our servers remembered how much Chris loves his gluten free donuts and muffins and brought out enough on a plate to serve five. And Chris broke out his gluten free muffin happy dance for the occasion.
The entertainment team got on the microphones to announce that our breakfast guests would be there shortly and that you needed your cameras out and autograph books at the ready.
Our table either got it's food faster or something, but our kids finished their breakfast lickety-split. Either way, by the time Minnie reached our section, our servers had napkin hatted everyone and cleared away our plates. Kylee was braver this breakfast than at her first one and enjoyed meeting everyone. Chris slowly picked away at his mountain of gluten free baked goods until it finally reached a single chocolate chip muffin. Each kid resumed coloring and doing word finds in their trip journals when Chip walked up behind them and proceeded to make himself at home.
He wandered right off with his muffin until Chip's friend told the children to tell him to bring it back.
Chris and Kylee obliged and Chip returned the muffin to the plate.
Although slightly upside down.
In addition to the gluten-free muffin happy dance that ensued, Kylee could not stop giggling.
This definitely is one of those vacation memories we talk about and that both kids talk about when looking back at our favorite Disney moments. Chris still loves reenacting Chip the muffin pilfering chipmunk anytime we set muffins on the table!
