Today's Tuesday Trivia - Cinderella's dress is not blue.

I know what you're saying. "What on earth is she talking about? I have millions of pictures of my child with Cinderella and in every one of them Cinderella's dress just gets bluer and bluer."

Nevertheless, if you go back and watch Walt Disney's classic Cinderella movie, her dress is clearly white and a soft grey or silvery white.

In the Platinum Edition Cinderella DVD and BluRay they recolorized Cinderella's dress to match the bluer tones of the Cinderella we see in the parks and merchandizing. They recolored her hair from strawberry to platinum blonde in the same version of the film. This is not the first instance of recoloring.

That dates all the way back to the original promotional material at the premiere of Cinderella in a blue version of her gown. So for everyone who was surprised by the transformation of Cinderella in 2012 to her current look, just realize Disney already has been dying her hair platinum for over sixty years.

I always wondered about the fact that her dress was blue! I like the blue though. :) Very interesting trivia this week.
