There's something a little bit unusual about the Disney Cruise Line. Something about the pools. Something you wouldn't necessarily notice if you mostly use the pool deck for sunning and French fries.
Can you guess what is different about the pool water on the Disney ships?

Whee!
While most of the cruise ship industry employs salt water in their onboard pools, Disney decided to use chlorinated fresh water instead. And the water is heated. Disney is in the details and these little extras ensure that my kids enjoy splashing away in the dead of winter.

Closed at night for cleaning.
 
Just something to think about next time you're lounging around poolside.

    Heated is good! I've never been on a cruise so I never would have guessed that other cruise lines use ocean/salt water in their pools. That seems strange to me. I'm glad to know Disney goes with the chlorinated route!

    The only time I've been on DCL so far has been in January, and despite the heated water, that AquaDuck was cold! It was fun, though!

Although Disney lists limits on dress (no swimwear in the dining rooms, etc.) here on their website, what exactly do people "normally" wear?   I've got you covered. Independence day means celebrating America! Barbecue (barbeque or BBQ, depending on the region), family, fireworks, watermelons, swimming and general merriment abound.
