Private Parties at Sea

The Disney ships offer many fun and entertaining options for groups of adults. Your party can lounge, dance, karaoke and, well, party to your hearts content. Each ship contains it's own unique adult overflowing with lounges and clubs geared specifically for the over 18 set. But what if you're looking for an invitation only experience? Disney handles that and handles it well.

Private Dining

The private dining room in Palo serves dinner to larger parties of 12-14 guests. Pictures HERE. Smaller parties may be accommodated if the room is available. The classic ships also feature private dining during Palo brunch.

Call DCL 30 days before sailing to secure your reservation or contact your TA and let them handle the leg work.

Private Tastings

Private tastings of either Wine, Beer, Cognac, Martini, Margarita and sometimes Chocolate can be booked for groups over 14 and charged through DCL to each guest individually. They cap these events at 40 attendees.

Private Happy Hour

What if your group is larger? Or you want more of a mixer and a less formal environment?
One of our cruise friends, Susan, arranged for our DISboards group to meet up in Sessions for a Happy Hour during our recent cruise. It seemed like a great afternoon activity for us and our sixty new friends, so we went along for the ride.

Our one hour open bar event cost $18.50 per person (unlimited drinks) and $11.75 per person (unlimited nonalcoholic drinks). Just as a point of reference, a drink of the day (regardless of alcohol) costs just under $5 after tax and gratuity. Calling DCL to setup the event and coordinate payment prior to two weeks before sail date took a bit of work compared to the tastings or Palo private room. (Thank you again Susan!) The day of our happy hour, we arrived at sessions to find our DIS group gathering next to a sign outside of Sessions that read, simply "Private Function: DISboards Group." The festivities commenced! I will say that as a nonalcoholic attendee who views living it up as a mint tea after dinner, I tried nearly every non-alcoholic drink I could imagine.
By far my favorite drink was asking the bar tender for something fruity, tropical and nonalcoholic.
It was delicious.

Have you enjoyed any private parties at Disney on land or sea?
