Ben stayed in a surprisingly good mood given how sleepy he seemed when he brought the coffee out on the verandah.
Perhaps the smell of coffee and the view agreed with him?
|
It's hard to argue with the view. |
The kids woke up with the room service delivery as well.
After enthusiastically realizing it was her birthday and that she turned five, Kylee got all dressed up in her birthday finery to unwrap some FE gifts.
|
Birthday Tiara, Presents and Bows! |
After Ben, Chris and Diana dressed, we all spent a little more time enjoying the verandah before heading off to breakfast. This is literally the first cruise where I did not pick a single thing to do off of the navigator the evening before each day.
|
Beautiful deep water. |
The easiest place for everyone to enjoy their various allergy free breakfast is Triton's.
|
Birthday Girl |
After a relatively quick and easy breakfast (the tofu scramble with veggies is pretty good) we let Kylee pick what she wanted to do for her birthday.
|
Chris keeping warm in the heated pool. |
Which, despite the cool morning, involved being the first one down the Mickey Slide. Several circuits later, Diana headed for warmer locations (like the Cove Café). Chris only made a couple slides before he stuck to the pool to keep warm.
|
Cove Café |
After many, many slides with fairly little wait (the air temperature while walking up to the top of the slide was quite chilly) Chris started chattering and even Kylee agreed that perhaps it would be time to head to the Oceaneer Lab.
Kylee enjoyed a bath in the master bath (she could practically do laps) to warm up then changed back into her birthday ensemble.
|
My favorite! |
After dropping the kids off, Ben and I headed for a coffee break since we had an hour and a half to kill before our brunch reservation.
Some beautiful little mugs sat on the counter upstairs in Outlook Café.
While I took in the view and details, Diana and Ben enjoyed a chat in our favorite part of the ship.
|
I wonder what they are talking about? |
Our drinks arrived, momentarily.
|
Mmmmm. |
After soaking up the sun and caffeine, we headed back down to go for a walk for a while. (Ben and I were enjoying some alone time.) Mom agreed to meet us back in the suite to primp for Palo, when who should we happen across in the hallway but Ariel.
|
No, not the mural. |
Ariel the princess!
|
Just wandering around. |
Ariel was super sweet and meandering deck four without a friend and agreed to stop for a quick photo.
We headed out on deck and discovering it pretty empty, decided to see if
getting into a photo five times could be feasible.
|
Hmmm. Too wobbly though. |
Which it is!
But not with the wind, so we decided to try again when the ship docked in Cozumel.
|
On deck selfie! |
We popped back indoors then headed to five to peek in on the kids. Further down on deck, we ran across the Buena Vista theater, which still had a lovely little Christmas tree set across from it.
|
I love the whole "Frozen" vibe of this tree! |
Ben took some photos on six as we passed the Ariel mural.
|
And I took photos of him taking photos. |
When finally, we were back up to deck 8.
|
Our floor! |
Where, after saying hello to our stateroom host, Jay, it truly was time to get dressed and head for Palo.
