Fairytale Photos ~ Mirror, Mirror

Image
I think that the magic of a Disney vacation exists in three wonderful parts: the dreaming of planning, the pixie dust moments during trip itself and the memories you take with you for years to come. Since I can't live in the Cinderella Castle Suite or even on property year round, pictures help bring a bit of the fairytale back into my everyday life. In my enthusiastic pursuit of remembering the Magic, I take hundreds thousands of my own pictures every vacation and hope to share a bit of my experience with you. Sometimes the most simple way to create an interesting picture is to look around and pay attention to reflective surfaces. Sometimes surprising, sometimes funny, sometimes gorgeous, reflections go with whatever way you want to use them. Puddles, glass, security bubble mirrors, silverware, wood with a fine sheen to it, if you keep your eyes open, the possibilities are nearly endless. The Royal Treatment ~ R is for Roja

Image
After the early evening on Sunday, Chris and Kylee woke up early and energized! Though the sun wouldn't appear until after 6:25, they were up earlier than that. Not wanting to wake up Ben and perhaps letting mom go back to sleep, once they dressed we headed out to play shuffleboard at dawn on deck and perhaps to take our early morning photos in front of the funnel. Gray morning. The morning, neither chilly nor warm, but thick with humidity kept the usual walkers and runners away and we enjoyed the deck to ourselves, save several cast members busy with ship maintenance. Deck four nearly dawn. Given how many times we've played shuffleboard, I really ought to be better. I'm going to blame our nearly scoreless games this particular morning on the rain slicked deck. The little biscuits stuck to the teak decking unpredictably when shoved with the tang. Chris and Kylee discuss which should play me next. So the biscuit would slip along toward the scoring tr...

Shorts Saturday ~ My First Memory

Image
Welcome Blog Hoppers to My "Shorts Saturday" Blog Hop for the week of January 25, 2014. Every week, I host this link up blog hop to share a short and sweet version of our Disney love as we answer Disney related questions. I'd love for you to grab the button and link up your post! We all love comments, so half the fun is visiting each other's blogs and commenting on their thoughts. Our short and sweets  prompt this week is "My Earliest Disney Memory in less than 100 words." Walking and skipping across Target's parking lot, deep in conversation, "So it's something we need? Is it oxygen?" "No. It's a video. I'm not telling you what it is in case they don't have it." Our first video? For our brand new VCR??? I remember playing that VHS to death, taking breaks from Legend of Zelda to learn how to shove my finger into the holes to  rewind the tape until eventually it became so mangled that we replaced it ($24.95 in ...

The Royal Treatment ~ Diana's Journal ~ Sunday

Image
As much as I felt blessed to enjoy our cruise, sharing it with family made it all the more magical! Diana (my mother in law) graciously allowed me to share her journal entries from each day of our cruise as both a sum up from that day, and a separate trip report in their own right. This is Part 11 of an Ongoing Trip Report "The Royal Treatment" additional sections of this report can be found on the Adventures page.
