The Royal Treatment ~ R is for Random Roaming

I did end up getting up after a few hours or sleep to lock the sliding doors next to our bed in place as they would slide open and shut with the waves. I'd be unlocking them far before dawn. As Mom said in her blog, Kylee woke up in the middle of the night and couldn't quite settle back down with the (even more pronounced) ship movement in the middle of the night. I let Kylee cuddle up in the middle of our bed.
Kylee wasn't scared. Much like the first time we hit turbulence in an airplane, the first time we hit rough water during a cruise, we made a game out of it. On an airplane this involved getting my two year old to put her hands over her head and yell "Whee!" everytime the plane dropped. On a ship, we watched for things around our stateroom and the ship doing strange things.
Unfortunately, Kylee wasn't tired so rather than wake up for the day, we headed out for a walk around the ship (in hopes she would get tired out and be ready to head to sleep or at least avoid waking up her brother).

Only 48 kts?
The monitors around the ship said that although the apparent wind died down a bit from earlier, we had picked up some speed.
The fourth deck and ninth decks were closed for high winds still. Nearly every cast member who saw us in the hallway asked politely if we needed help as they went about cleaning the ship for the following morning.

Kylee wanted to go see Ariel. So we headed down the stairs, stopping briefly to watch the photo boards in the hall on four swing back and forth and the Studio Sea door open and close on it's own. Watching the chandelier (which, if memory serves, is hung to allow it to swing so that it does not break when the ship rolls or pitches) is fascinating and unnerving. Kylee enjoyed sitting next to Ariel and looking at it sway from directly beneath.

Kylee wandered in her jammies. I changed into some work out clothes.
Thankfully after visiting her favorite Christmas tree, Kylee asked me to carry her back to the room and once I set her in bed, she went to sleep without further ado.

    1. I just wished I'd bothered to get video looking straight up into the chandelier. Next Time!
