Everything is Better With Mickey Ears | Favorite Food Friday

Image
Welcome Favorite Food Friday Blog Hoppers! If it can be found eaten by hundred of children walking down Main Street USA, is full of vanilla ice cream and has Mickey Ears, what is it? Everything's tastier when it's Mickey shaped! Mickey Mouse Kid's Cone- Once Scoop of Vanilla Location: Plaza Ice Cream Parlor, Main Street, USA Cost: $2.99 Although less iconic than the Mickey Bar and Dole Whip, in my kids eyes the Mickey Mouse Kid's Cone is equally magical. This smooth creamy cone cools you off while you wait for the beginning of Festival of Fantasy or Wishes, but more importantly, it is a lovely throw back served in a turn of the century parlor. Just off of the Main Hub and convenient to the new gardens, with the smell of fresh waffle cone wafting down Main Street, it's not likely you'd forget where to find this confection. The ears go first of course! Note, the ears will not so much as make it even part of the way down Main Street. I'm sure...

Top 10 Posts in 2013

Image
Looking back at 2013, it's easy for me to see how much fun and enjoyment I gained by joining the Disney blogging community. Y'all rock! To think a year ago, I contented myself with communicating on DISboards and lurking on PassPorter rather than really charging into the share-athon that is this magical blogging community. I've really come to look forward to reading and keeping up with my Disney family and hope that in some small way you guys like keeping up with our pixie-dust craziness as well. Without further ado (and totally brought on by Heidi Strawser's post yesterday) we will be counting down the top posts from twenty thirteen that gained popularity (notoriety?) on this blog. If you missed them the first time around, give them a peek. If you've already read them all, please skip down to the comments and let me know which one you liked the most! 10.) Foodie Friday ~ Tea with Alice

Image
Welcome Foodie Friday Blog Hoppers! Tea With Alice "Is this going to be girly mom?" Location: Studio Sea, Disney Magic Cost: Included in Cruise Fare, Ticket Required ( Pick up tickets for your party on embarkation at Guest Services) We arrived at Studio Sea (on the Re-Imagined Magic, this space is now known as "D Lounge") several minutes before our tea time. Seating is first come, first served and my daughter and son are on the petite side, so front row viewing is worth the extra time. This is not a high tea nor a traditional afternoon tea, as a matter of fact all the "tea" is apple juice! This matters little to the Oceaneers it is aimed for, but I figured a heads up was in order. Each table set beautifully with whimsically mismatched mugs, chocolate chip cookies and tea pots. The entertainment hostess made sure that a gluten free snack (read fruit plate) replaced our cookies. Fairly bouncing with excitement, Chris and Kylee tried t...

Pinterest Pixie Perfect - Enlarging Photos

Do you remember back to the picture from  Wordless Wednesday August Calendar  at the beginning of the month? My August Photo   Malorie  commented, "I hope this is in a really big frame somewhere." Well thanks to pinterest , some spare change from the couch, OfficeMax, Home Depot plenty of ventilation! a little bit of duct tape (picture by Kylee, age 4) and detailed directions from Mandy from Sugar Bee crafts , it is! My craft room/office/DCL memory bank And so is another picture of her brother as well. Opposite wall of my office. I'm looking into redoing our whole  office   master suite house in "Disney Cruise Line." Does anyone know where you can get one or two of the steamer trunk cabinets?  Or linens? How do you bring your vacation back home with you? If you need me, I'll be pinning some ideas for "My House Goes Disney- Disney Cruise Line Edition". Which, to the best of my knowledge, is...

Pinning for My Dream Disney Vacation

Image
I love Pinterest!  For those of you unfamiliar with the magic of Pinterest, it is, in it's own words, "a tool for collecting and organizing the things you love." I've used it to plan and execute a complete transformation of my daughter's bedroom from her Winnie the Pooh Nursery days to her current enchanted forest, create cute teacher gifts and even collect an amazing array of fonts. My favorite use of Pinterest, however, is to collect and organize crafts, ideas and inspirations for my next Disney trip. Consider this bonus Pixie Dust! My current Top Ten Disney Pins include: 10. How to Pack a Ridiculous Amount in a Small Space   9. Some Excellent Photography Tips These are slowly helping to help take my current "terrible-though-enthusiastic" photography to hopefully just "enthusiastic" photography. 8. "Plus It Up" Flip Flops 7. Disney Scrap Book Ideas 6. Marty Sklar's New Book Who doesn't love a li...

Worth the Cost of a Cruise

Image
I have never been one who is much of a secret keeper. And so today, I'm spilling the beans, letting you know about which five things top my"Reasons I wish I was on a Disney Cruise Right Now" list...at least until I change my mind tomorrow and come up with another five favorite things... 5) All Inclusive and Cashless society Roll out of bed. Put on clothes. Put on lanyard (with Key to the World). Done. 4)  The Oceaneer Club and Lab Let's face it, around now summer is getting to be very long. Imagine a room full of age appropriate new toys filled with (mostly) British formally trained nannys who want nothing more than to play and amuse your children with games and stories about their favorite characters all day long.  DCL calls them counselors.  I call them a Godsend.  Oh, did I mention that Belle just casually drops by to read the kids a story some days or Snow White pops in to dance with them?  The only hard part about the club and lab is getting yo...
