We arrived at Studio Sea (on the Re-Imagined Magic, this space is now known as "D Lounge") several minutes before our tea time. Seating is first come, first served and my daughter and son are on the petite side, so front row viewing is worth the extra time.
This is not a high tea nor a traditional afternoon tea, as a matter of fact all the "tea" is apple juice! This matters little to the Oceaneers it is aimed for, but I figured a heads up was in order. Each table set beautifully with whimsically mismatched mugs, chocolate chip cookies and tea pots. The entertainment hostess made sure that a gluten free snack (read fruit plate) replaced our cookies. Fairly bouncing with excitement, Chris and Kylee tried to restrain themselves from snacking as we waited for our hosts to arrive.

Table laid for our Tea Party!

Alice came bounding in with the Mad Hatter singing and frolicking until they realized they had a few of their guests missing. No problem, Kylee raised her hand, waving it high over her head and jumping up and down (which as any Disney Parks fan knows, is the proper reaction as soon as a cast member seems to be seeking a volunteer.)
The Mad Hatter wandered over to our table

"I wonder if there is anyone who could possibly be bouncy enough to be a rabbit. Hmmm.  I think we need someone with springy legs.  Possibly someone jumpy." He drew this out nearly forever, only a foot from my four year old as she hopped for all she was worth. Her tiny, waving hand just under his eye line. Adults started laughing as the Hatter was obviously seeing how long she could keep on hopping. Until finally he said "Oh! There you are! You should do quite nicely!"

Off she went to fill in for the white rabbit.

Alice selected a (far less bouncy) guest to fill in for the March Hare. All guests poured tea and enjoyed their cookies. Major pixie dust points for the entertainment host who swapped out the cookies on the table for fruit at our little white rabbit skipped around with Alice, the March Hare and the Mad Hatter.

Tilts
Kylee is almost entirely eclipsed by the blue tea pot.
Alice taught table manners and how to take your tea "the Queen's Way" while the Mad Hatter provided a hilarious counterexample, spitting cookie crumbs in all directions while talking about not talking with your mouth full. After a tale of Alice's adventures, some brief singing and  several rounds of "Clean Cup! Move Down!," the Hatter and Alice invited guests down for a picture and a hug.

Each ship offers different experiences! While the Disney Magic offers Tea with Alice, the Disney Wonder offers a Tea with the Princesses (though rumor has it, this has once been Tea with Disney friends). The Disney Fantasy recently began serving a "Royal High Tea" (for a fee) which not only featured a tea party with princesses but also dolls, jewelry and gifts.

What is your favorite character dining experience?
